With over 25 years of experience as a public speaker and facilitator, Katie’s audiences have spanned a wide range including those in academic settings, workplaces, board meetings, conferences, think tanks, governmental settings (from local to the U.S. Congress), and in train-the-trainer contexts. Additionally, she has experience working with interpreters during international speaking engagements.
Katie Sauer is no stranger to leadership stress and impact-driven work.
She earned her doctorate in economics in her twenties and spent a decade in higher education as a professor, administrator, and international speaker. In her executive roles at an investment consulting firm and national nonprofit, she had a hectic travel schedule and high-pressure responsibilities.
In her own calling to step into bigger impact, Katie has pivoted Burnout Proof Leaders from a boutique coaching practice into a scaling enterprise with wider reach through its programming. Additionally, Katie is currently working on an initiative focused on systems change to unleash human capital.
Katie is a voracious learner. She’s pursued formal training and credentials in numerous areas including change leadership, executive coaching, intuitive energy awareness, yoga and meditation, nutrition, nonprofit management, and economics. She is a nationally-recognized expert in personal finance education, programming, and research. Additionally, she is always learning something new through self-directed inquiry.
Bismarck, North Dakota is Katie’s hometown, but you'll have to listen closely to hear any trace of that accent. Colorado is where she's called home for the past two decades. She enjoys creative pursuits like painting and dancing and enjoys broadening her horizons through travel. She’s an avid meditator and loves the metaphysical side of life. Katie is an herbivore and enjoys plant-based gourmet cooking. Puns are her preferred style of humor. Her last name is pronounced "sour", like a lemon.
